A huge part of having a cleaning routine that you follow on regular basis is focusing on the floors and cleaning them. But how to proceed with the cleaning when you have very rare slate floors that most people can only dream of? How can you take proper care of this durable stone and make sure that it always looks as good as it did when it was first installed?
I am going to teach you how to do it – and let me put you in a little secret… you don’t need fancy commercial cleaners. Yes, I know that you are probably thinking that you need the most expensive cleaner you can find in store, however, you actually need natural ingredients for achieving the best results!
How to Easily Clean Your Slate Floors?
Start off with preparing a mop, vacuum cleaner, Castile soap, a bucket, a sponge, and a few towels. Take a look at your grout and determine whether it needs special care. If it’s really dirty then also prepare hydrogen peroxide and a spray bottle.
Of course, start with hoovering the floor. Next, mix warm water and a few tablespoons of the Castile soap in a bucket. This is going to be our cleaning detergent! Dip your mop in the soapy mixture and start cleaning the floors.
After you have covered the floors with the soapy mixture, you have to rinse them and get rid of the residue. Grab another bucket, fill it with water, dip a clean towel or mop in there and wipe the floor.
Now, if your grout needs to be cleaned too, pour hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle and then dilute it with a bit of water. Spray this on the grout and let it sit for a few minutes before you wipe it with a damp towel.
And just like that, your expensive slate floors are going to be spotless!
