If you were enjoying a movie sitting on the couch with a huge bucket of chocolate then you are most likely regretting it by now because you made a huge mess and you have a few chocolate stains on your favourite sofa. I know that you were careful but it still happens – don’t worry about it, I will show you how to remove these annoying stains in this article! In fact, I have two different extremely effective stain removal methods I will show you today – all of which include only natural ingredients you already have in your home!
How To Remove Chocolate Stains From An Upholstery?
– The First Method:
Grab a butter knife or a spoon and scoop out the remaining chocolate – but be careful and do not scrub or rub the area because you will drive the stains further into the fabric making it harder to remove.
Then mix liquid dish soap and hot water in a bowl and dampen a cloth in the mixture – then treat the stain with it.
Next, pat the area with a cloth or a towel. If the stain remains then you need to sprinkle cornmeal all over the area – it will absorb the excess moisture as well as the stain residue. I recommend you let it sit for an hour or so before you vacuum it.
– The Second Method:
Once again, start with scooping as much of the chocolate as possible with a spoon or a butter knife. Then mix two cups of cold water with a tablespoon of liquid dish soap in a bowl. Dip a cloth in there and treat the stain with it. The stain will lighten a lot.
Then rinse the area by wiping it with a damp cloth and continue with wiping with a dry towel to remove the moisture.
